A recent video circulating online, showing a pitbull savaging a cat while its handler stood by, has prompted Bahrain’s animal welfare society to track down the person who posted it. The Bahrain Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA) has filed a complaint with the Cybercrime Directorate against the dog owner, accusing them of abuse and training the animal to act violently.

The group said it is also trying to confirm whether the incident took place in Bahrain or was merely reshared from elsewhere. In the footage, the pitbull is seen latching onto the cat while the person holding its lead makes no attempt to intervene.
