Fake degree probe intensifies

A major investigation is being conducted at all government entities to find those who may have used fake degrees to secure their positions.

Government officials who may have utilised fake degrees are being targeted in an ongoing investigation following royal directives.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Premier and Civil Service Council Chairman has directed that an assistant undersecretary from a ministry be referred to the Public Prosecution after being accused of obtaining fake academic qualifications.

All government entities were also instructed to comply with the Civil Service Bureau’s efforts to verify the educational qualifications of government officials.

The efforts are part of an ongoing initiative to solve the fake degree scandal which has been recurring since the last year.
