Defence witnesses will be heard on September 8 in the trial of five men suspected of placing a fake bomb in Tubli.
They are implicated in the disturbance, which broke out on December 5 last year, where rioters burned tyres and dispersed concrete blocks on a vital street to disrupt traffic flow in the area.
Before leaving the scene, the saboteurs poured oil on the street and planted an explosive-like object, which turned out to be a hoax.
The five Bahrainis were put on trial after police investigation uncovered their involvement in the incident.
Apart of placing a fake bomb in a public place, the accused are also charged with rioting, arson and participating in an illegal gathering.
In a separate case, the hearing of four accused in connection with planting a fake bomb was adjourned until September 14 to hear prosecution witnesses.
The four reportedly placed the device in Sitra near a local bank, in a bid to scare the residents in the area in September last year.
"I went to my friend's house (the third accused) and saw them making a fake bomb. And I helped them out with it," The fourth accused told prosecutors. "We then placed it near the bank to create panic," he added.
