His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, directed the Ministry of Works to expedite the implementation of sustainable infrastructure solutions to rain-related issues across the Kingdom.

This follows the Cabinet’s review of a joint memorandum submitted by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Minister of Works. The Cabinet extended its thanks to the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture for their efforts and swift response to the recent heavy rainfalls.

HRH Prince Salman yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the discussions held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

Pivotal role

It noted the pivotal role of Jordan, led by HM King Abdullah, in advancing peace efforts in the region and defending the interests of Arab nations, notably of Palestinians.

The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding developments in the implementation of projects included in the Kingdom’s general budget for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, which were agreed by the Executive and Legislative Authorities.

2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance on the mechanisms and services provided by the company operating the Khalifa Bin Salman Port.

3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on an agreement between the Customs Affairs of Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, the Customs Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China regarding mutual recognition of the Authorized Economic Operator Programme.

4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a MoU for cooperation in the field of statistics between the Information and eGovernment Authority and the General Authority for Statistics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft decision establishing the rules and regulations for establishing honorary consulates in the Kingdom of Bahrain, appointments, and identification of headquarters.
