Dubai: Dubai Police captured a drug trafficking network and collected approximately 279,000 narcotic pills in a massive anti-drug operation, authorities reported. Several people got arrested after an inquiry into the group's activities.

The operation was carried out after investigators collected intelligence and traced the suspects' movements over time. Coordinated operations led to the arrest of people involved and the seizure of a huge number of illegal tablets before they could be disseminated.

Police claimed the seizure delivered a huge blow to the trafficking network and helped prevent the drugs from reaching local residents. The operation was described as part of the force's ongoing efforts to target organised crime and drug-related activities.

Dubai's absolute prohibition against drug trafficking was upheld by authorities, who emphasised the importance of intelligence led investigations and security agency collaboration in maintaining public safety. Investigations are underway to locate and arrest other persons related to the network.
