Council rejects event hall proposal in Zinj area amid traffic concerns

The Capital Municipal Council has rejected a proposal to rezone a property in the Zinj area (Block 360) for an event hall, citing concerns about increased traffic congestion in the already busy residential area.

While the municipality’s technical committee recommended the rezoning, council members voiced strong objections due to the neighbourhood’s existing traffic problems. The council voted to have the technical committee conduct a site visit and traffic study before reconsidering the proposal.

This decision came during a council meeting where the members also reviewed the current efforts of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority to solve the illegal workers’ issues.
