Basketball player wins BD4,500 compensation

A Bahraini basketball player has been awarded BD4,500 in compensation following a traffic accident that left him with a 7% permanent disability.

The ruling, handed down by a Bahraini court, concludes a case against both the driver responsible for the accident and their insurance company. The incident occurred when the basketball player, riding his motorcycle, was struck by a car driven by another individual.

The resulting damage to the motorcycle and the player’s injuries led to the legal action.

According to the player’s lawyer, Aqeela Mohammed Jassim, the lawsuit sought BD6,000 in compensation for both material and emotional damages, plus legal interest.
