Banking sector key to sustainable economic growth

His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, highlighted the vital role of the banking and financial sector in supporting economic development, noting its importance in advancing sustainable growth.

He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with regional and international financial institutions to create quality opportunities.

H.E. Shaikh Salman pointed to the Kingdom’s competitive and attractive environment, which reinforces its position as a regional and international financial centre.

The Minister made the remarks as he received Fahad bin Abduljalil Al Saif, Chairman of Gulf International Bank (GIB). H.E. Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain; H.E. Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat); and a number of officials attended the meeting.
