Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, praised the ongoing security cooperation and coordination between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuwait, and their dedication to exchanging expertise in all operations to protect security and general safety.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah was speaking as he received yesterday Kuwait Interior Ministry’s Undersecretary, Lieutenant-General Anwar Al Barjas. Chief of Public Security, Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Inspector-General and General Supervisor of the General Directorate of the Interior Ministry Affairs attended the meeting.

The minister said the committee meeting reflects the commitment to reinforce joint security operations out of fraternity ties among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah hailed the solid and historical ties between the two brotherly countries, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his Kuwait Amir, His Highness Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.

He congratulated Shaikh Talal Al Khaled Al Ahmad Al Sabah for his appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Kuwait. He highlighted several initiatives and programmes undertaken by the Interior Ministry to promote community security, including the Maan (together) programme against violence and addiction that aims to protect youth through ongoing development and the launch of a new curriculum.

The minister also mentioned the Recovery programme of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, the alternative sentencing project and the open prisons programme. He said the security work could develop through proactive measures and implementation of correct legal procedures.
