Manama : Bahrain Royal Endurance Team’s Hamad Janahi came in first riding Samira in a speed of six hours 24 minutes and 57 seconds at a speed of 20km in the qualification round of the World Youth Championship in Italy, while Mohammed Al Miqdad (6:25:02) came third and Mohammed Abdul Samad (7:11:55) in fifth place. Worthy of note was that the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team’s Rashid Al Rowaie won first place last year on the same horse, Samira at the same venue.

With this victory, Janahi qualified for the Championship among the world’s elite riders. This completes the Bahraini team qualifying to participate and consisting of Fahad Al Khateri, winner of the latest edition of the World Youth Championship in Chile, Dana Al Bengadeer, Rashid Al Rowaie and Salem Sabt.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Captain of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team praised the qualification of team member Hamad Janahi, after winning first place in the 130km Argenton Race which was held in France.

Shaikh Nasser confirmed the team’s steady movement towards more achievements in foreign races, adding that the team’s administrative and technical body has developed a plan for the participation in many European championships.

“The team has achieved the goals for which it participated in the Argenton Race by way of an honourable sports achievement for the Kingdom in addition to preparing the team for upcoming endurance races,” Shaikh Nasser said.
