His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday wished Bah- raini citizens and expatriate community “Eid Mubarak” on the advent of Eid Al-Adha hail- ing the sacrifices and efforts of Bahrain’s frontline heroes and urging all to continue complying with the precautionary procedures to overcome the crisis. “The health situation is as- suring, thanks to Allah the Almighty, as the pandemic is steadily abating and the num- ber of people recovering is in- creasing,” HM the King said affirming Bahrain’s capability to overcome the crisis.

His Majesty also underlined Bahrain’s solidarity with the rest of the world in facing the global challenges and weather its repercussions.

Wonderful examples in sacrifice

“By showing utmost keen- ness on people’s health and safety,” HM the Kingdom said the medical and nursing staff, the security bodies and the na- tional taskforces “set the most wonderful examples in sacri-fice, humaneness, loyalty and patriotism.”

HM also called on providing “every support to the task force to ensure the success of its national duties in curbing the pandemic” thanking HRH the Crown Prince for successfully handling the pandemic situation and containing its re- percussions.

Responding to the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Bahrain set up a ded- icated National Taskforce led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to tackle the spread of the virus and take measures to ensure that testing and quarantine facilities were set up without delay. As part of the response, Bahrain is supporting individuals and com- panies through a comprehensive US$11.4bn economic stimulus package.

High awareness

King Hamad further thanked the Bahraini citizens and the expatriate community for their high awareness and cooperation by adhering to the preemptive measures.

Bahrain, King Hamad said, is heading into the future with determination and confidence to protect achievements and promote its development march. Eid al-Adha or “feast of the sacrifice”, which marks the culmination of the Hajj rites at Mina, is the second of the two great festivals, the other being Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrat- ed by Muslims throughout the world. It begins on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of theIslamic calendar, and contin- ues for an additional three days.
