Bahrain tackling human rights issue

Manama : Let the world know that Bahrain has been seriously tackling the issue of human rights and there was no truth in the false propaganda made against Bahrain, says Head of Human Rights Committee MP Nasser Al Qaseer.

Speaking to DT News at the Parliament House yesterday Al Qaseer said the main challenge in the Human Rights sphere was to approach the world and prove them that “we are tackling this issue very seriously.”

He said that in order to improve Bahrain’s reputation it was very important to tell the world exactly what was going on in the Kingdom so that the world might not be allured by the rumours spread by the European or other parliaments that were trying to create stories about Bahrain.

Qaseer added that the issue of human rights was one of the important matters that they were discussing at this stage and have been preparing for the United Nations General Assembly meeting as well.

He said that they had a pre-meeting with the Human Rights committee where they discussed all the required agendas of the internal and external reports on Bahrain in order to raise any suggestions at the General Secretary’s office.
