Southern police yesterday arrested three Asian women, for begging in the directorate. Legal measures are being pursued against them by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate. Major-General Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security, said community service police are intensifying the campaign to address this issue. “Police directorates are contributing to promoting community awareness to combat beggary,” he added.
