Bahrain Marks International Day of Police Cooperation

Bahrain joined countries around the world in celebrating the International Day of Police Cooperation, observed on September 7 each year.

On this occasion, Interior Minister General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the importance of international security coordination in combating crime and enhancing global safety. He said the Ministry of Interior is working to strengthen such cooperation, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Minister noted that today’s security challenges are increasingly cross-border, making it essential to build stronger channels of cooperation, share expertise, and exchange information quickly and accurately. He emphasized the need to expand the use of modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced systems to fight organized crime more effectively.

He also highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to supporting the goals of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and to promoting global approaches to police cooperation that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Interior expressed its appreciation for Interpol’s professional efforts in assisting police forces worldwide and supporting international peace and security. The Ministry affirmed Bahrain’s determination to continue contributing actively to global police cooperation within the UN framework and through specialized agencies combating cross-border crime.
