His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a telephone conversation with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Palestine, yesterday, on the security situation in the region. During the call from Abbas, HM King emphasised that the Palestinian people, akin to other nations, deserve their complete rights to establish an independent and fully sovereign state, designating East Jerusalem as its capital.

King Hamad stressed the imperative for influential countries to initiate concrete steps towards realising this noble goal. Abbas extended his congratulations to HM King on the occasion of national days, commemorating the anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne and the accompanying national events.
