Manama : Participants in the First Bahrain Baby Games, which the kingdom organizes next month, had a series of training sessions in preparation for the six-day event.

The first-ever Baby Games is scheduled to run from May 5 to 10 as the Bahrain Olympic Committee, organisers of the games, involved all the participants in practice sessions at the Bahrain Sports Federation for People with Disabilities Hall in Riffa.

Organising Committee chairman Lounes Madene said a number of training sessions were conducted over the past weekend for the participants in presence of general coordinator Jawaher Abdulla and other supervisors of the games.

He said 37 nurseries and pre-schools have been submitted for the games, with a promising 1,062 children expected to take part.

Madene said the Organizing Committee has met with the parents and representatives of the participating nurseries and pre-schools and provided them with all the information as well as the general programme of the games.

He expressed satisfaction with the training programme in all four sports, and pointed out that a technical meeting will be held next Wednesday (May 2) with representatives of nurseries and pre-schools, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to discuss all preparations prior to the games.
