Asian jailed for running over colleague

An Asian man has been handed down three years in jail after running over a receptionist inside a local hotel by driving a guest’s car.

The accused is said to have been assigned to park the vehicles of hotel guests, but he drove the car through the hotel following a failed parking attempt.

He allegedly crashed a guest’s vehicle that was given to him to park, and tried to flee because of panic.

However, he slammed the vehicle into the hotel, and crashed the receptionist, who succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the accident.

The defendant was charged with manslaughter, driving without a licence and causing damage to local properties.

The Lower Criminal Court has also fined the defendant BD600 for his offences.
