An ode to the cosmic losses on the smaller scale

An ode to the trapping of butterflies

Whose death has never had an effect of any type

Lost my phone

Have no more contacts

Bit my tongue

My alibi now unbacked

An ode to the fits of tears

You never bothered to wipe.

Stubbed my toe

My walk is in danger

An ode to Expectations

Who they said you didn’t have to meet.

An ode to the Snowmen melting

From my raging heat.

An ode to Small Matters,

Who you should never cheat.

Ripped my skirt

Stuck as nighttime entertainer

An ode to the emotions that don’t settle

Yet whose memories settle into obscurity

Forgot a birthday

My inheritance halved

Dropped my plate

Left Starved

An ode to the small losses that affirm your reality;

That which controls your destiny.
