Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, announced receiving the Brandon Hall Group Silver Award for Excellence 2023 for its Training & Development Programme (TDP) under the Best Development Programme for Frontline Leaders’ Category.

This is the fourth time that Alba has been recognised by the Brandon Hall Group with the previous awards being won in 2016, 2018 and in 2021.

The TDP is one of Alba’s major and long-running initiatives that aim at boosting Bahrainisation by raising the professional calibre of its Bahraini employees through education and skills training, thus enabling them to take positions in supervisory ranks and above.

Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali said: “The TDP initiative has allowed us to develop hundreds of nationals throughout the years and today we are proud to have 85% Bahrainisation out of our total workforce.”
