A woman convicted of attacking a police officer during a visit to a prison to meet her nephew has had her jail term increased to six months.

The Lower Criminal Court had earlier given the Bahraini woman only a month’s imprisonment, but she was re-tried before the High Criminal Court after she was let out on a BD100 bail.

The woman is said to have attacked the police officer two years ago when she was visiting her nephew at the Dry Dock Detention Centre.
