Verdict in bomb case on Dec 29

The verdict on 29 defendants, embroiled in triggering a homemade bomb, will be announced on December 29.

The suspects, all of whom Bahrainis aged between 16 and 25, are said to have detonated the improvised explosive in Bani Jamra on September 12 last year, when police officers were also on site. Their accusation was established based on the detainees’ confessions, witnesses’ statements, medical and technical reports as well as the conducted inspections.

The defendants have been charged with attempt to murder police officers, setting off an explosive, possessing bombs and flammable devices.

However, only 16 of the defendants are in police custody.
