Three imprisoned for kidnapping Thai woman in Bahrain

Manama : A court has upheld the prison terms of three men, who kidnapped a Thai woman after impersonating police officers.

The convicts reportedly manipulated her before dragging her inside their car when she was standing outside a hotel in Juffair.

The Thai woman said that the trio took her sun glasses, bracelet and a wrist watch along with some money.

One of the defendants had earlier denied malign intent with their act, stating that the woman was drunk and she was annoying them.

“We only transported her to her hotel because she was drunk and was causing troubles to us,” the man said.

The trio was earlier sentenced to three years in prison each.
