In line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has launched an ambitious initiative aimed at training 50,000 Bahrainis in artificial intelligence (AI) skills by 2030. This program is set to equip the Bahraini workforce with the skills necessary for the evolving demands of the labor market, particularly in the growing field of AI.

The initiative underscores the government's commitment to investing in the development of national competencies and offering opportunities for success in emerging fields. The package consists of three main tracks:

1. Executive Leadership in AI: This track is designed to train administrators and executives in strategic AI leadership, enabling them to integrate AI effectively within their organizations.

2. General AI Skills: This program targets Bahrainis seeking to learn the fundamentals of AI, including automation, data analysis, and productivity enhancement using AI tools.

3. AI Specialist Training: This track focuses on preparing Bahrainis to build AI tools, equipping them with specialized skills for AI development and deployment.

The training initiative is part of Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025, which aim to enhance Bahrainis' competitiveness in the private sector while supporting the digitization and growth of local institutions. This training will be delivered in collaboration with local and international training providers to ensure high standards and quality outcomes.
