Manama : The Bahrain Society of Engineers hosted a ceremony for autistic and Down Syndrome people as part of World Youth Skills Day. The United Nations (UN) Media Office for the GCC states organised the event marking the World Youth Skills Day which falls on July 15. The UN global event is being held this year under the slogan #SkillsForAll. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan patronised the ceremony, in the presence of MPs, head of societies and clubs in charge of people with disabilities, and rehabilitation centres as well as families.

The ceremony featured a short film showcasing the skills of autistic and Down Syndrome people who took part in the competition. The winners and the sponsors were also honoured during the event, which was held under the theme “We Are Excellence”.
