The Higher Education Council (HEC) and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) discussed cooperation to develop education and encourage investments in the sector of higher education.
It is part of the development goals led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the 2023 Bahrain Economic Vision.
This came as the HEC Secretary General, HEC Board of Trustees’ Deputy Chairperson, Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, received yesterday BCCI Education and Training Committee Chairman Professor Youssef Abdulghaffar, in the presence of committee member Dr Bassam Al Hamad.
Dr Shaikha Rana stressed continued efforts to achieve the aspirations of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, through supporting economic development and the diversification of sources of revenues.
She underscored the importance of consolidating cooperation with the chamber to encourage investments in the sector of higher education and develop education tourism.
Prof Abdulghaffar stressed the committee’s plan to coordinate with higher education institutions and support their academic programmes and qualifications at the international level to attract students.
