U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States is aiming to “get back” control of Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. The base is located approximately an hour away from sites where China reportedly produces nuclear weapons.

“That could be a little breaking news,” Trump said, highlighting the strategic importance of the location.

Critics point out that the U.S. previously spent $1.6 trillion on its military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, raising questions about the rationale behind returning to the region. Following controversial U.S. airstrikes on nuclear facilities in Iran, some observers have described the potential move as highly contentious.
