Washington, United States: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Thursday that a flydubai co-pilot who attempted to crash an Israel-bound flight had undergone Islamist radical indoctrination.

Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu revealed that the co-pilot stabbed the captain during Wednesday's flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

Passengers and crew successfully intervened to subdue the attacker, preventing a disaster aboard the aircraft carrying 180 people.

The co-pilot was arrested and is currently being questioned by Saudi authorities following an emergency landing.

Netanyahu added that investigators are working to determine within days whether the suspect had any connections to Iran.
