Minister hails women empowerment drive

Manama : Housing Minister, Bassim Al-Hamar, extended congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on the International Women’s Day (IWD).

International Women’s Day is observed worldwide on March 8 to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.

The minister lauded the effective role played by women in the development process, especially in Bahrain.

“Women’s empowerment and equality with men in all work fields is the natural outcome of the awareness of the leadership and the government of the importance of ensuring women their right to education since many decades,” the Minister said.

Al-Hamar highlighted the role played by SCW to preserve women’s gains in various fields, including housing.
