Mazda announces airbag safety recall

International Motor Trading Agency, the authorised dealers for Mazda vehicles in Bahrain, announced the free replacement of airbag inflators for affected vehicles. The vehicles affected by this Airbag Safety Recall include Mazda 6 (2002 — 2012), CX-9 (2007 — 2012), Mazda 2 (2010 — 2014) and B-Series (2002 — 2007).

The airbag recall is part of a worldwide campaign launched by Mazda and many other major auto manufacturers in response to reports of malfunctioning of airbags manufactured by Takata Corporation, an automotive parts company based in Japan.

Mazda has recalled more than 270,000 affected vehicles, and there are more than 50 million other brand vehicles recalls affected worldwide.
