The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the Air Customs Directorate at Customs Affairs has foiled an attempt to smuggle a substance suspected to be marijuana weighing approximately 3 kilograms at Bahrain International Airport.

The Ministry of Interior stated that while a customs officer was performing his duties, he became suspicious of a passenger’s luggage after screening it with the X-ray machine.

The passenger was referred to the red lane, and upon inspection of his bag, a substance suspected to be marijuana was found concealed within his belongings.

The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Directorate to complete the necessary legal procedures.
