NEW DELHI: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accompanied by his wife Jeanette, visited the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra on Monday ahead of high-stakes geopolitical meetings in New Delhi.

The top American diplomat paused his intense diplomatic schedule to admire the 17th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site, which he praised as a ‘true treasure of the world’.

Following this brief cultural excursion, Rubio traveled to India's capital to participate in the crucial Quad Foreign Ministers' meetings. The upcoming strategic discussions are set to bring together top diplomats from the United States, India, Australia, and Japan to address pressing regional security, economic partnerships, and maritime stability across the Indo-Pacific.

The visit underscores Washington’s commitment to its strategic partnership with India amidst evolving global challenges. Alongside the multilateral Quad talks, Secretary Rubio is scheduled to hold key bilateral meetings with Indian officials to further reinforce defense and technology cooperation between the two nations.
