Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly on the verge of joining Aston Villa on loan, according to sources yesterday.

Villa have moved quickly for Rashford following the sale of Colombian striker Jhon Duran to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr on Friday.

The 27-year-old had been linked with AC Milan and Barcelona, while his representatives were also believed to have held talks with Tottenham and West Ham during the January transfer window.

A loan move to Villa could offer Rashford the chance to revive his career, following a dramatic dip in form over the past two years.

For Unai Emery’s side, a rejuvenated Rashford could provide a significant boost as they push for a top-four Premier League finish while also competing in the Champions League last 16.
