Lesbians caught kissing on Bahrain campus, jailed

Manama : Two young women have been condemned to one month behind bars for lip locking inside university campus. The defendants, aged 21 and 22, were caught by a security man while they were inside a car kissing each other passionately.

“I was on duty and roaming around the car park inside the university. I spotted a car shaking in a very suspicious way. When I moved close to the vehicle, I saw two girls engaged in sexual act. They were exchanging warm kisses,” the security gurad told prosecutors. “I knocked the car’s window and asked for their ID cards. One of them was a student at the university while the other one was a jobless woman. Then I called up police officers, who arrested them,” he added.

The women were charged with committing an obscene act in a public place. Judges at the Lower Criminal Court set BD50 as a bail for them, pending the outcome of their appeal.
