Kuwait to deport ‘drug-addict’ monkey

Kuwait City : Kuwaiti has decided to deport a monkey to its home country Indonesia after it was found to be taking drugs, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf emirate reported on Tuesday.

Tests showed the Orangutan had taken drugs just after a road accident involving his owner, who was also found to be intoxicated, ‘Al Rai’ said.

“Police questioning the owner after the accident found that he was under the influence of drugs. His monkey was also intoxicated,” the paper said.

“The monkey was transferred to the zoo pending its deportation at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fish Resources.”
