Indian petrol station worker commits suicide

An employee of a fuel dispensing firm was found dead in the official staff accommodation of the company in Al Qouz, leaving his colleagues and relatives back home sad and confused.

According to Dubai Police official sources, K was found dead in the staff accommodation on January 3, 2016, and the coroner’s report puts the reason for his death as “suicide by strangulation”.

According to his colleagues, the deceased, an Indian in his early twenties, tendered his resignation after completing two years of service and was planning to return to India when he was found dead. He was from Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

“He was working in the car wash section of the petrol station and he had tendered his resignation. We don’t know the reason for his death, and he was found hanging in the ceiling fan of a room in which his friends were staying. He used to be a regular visitor to the friends’ room and he was found dead in the morning by others who resided in the room,” said a source familiar with the death.

“He was sad and depressed,” said sources close to the deceased.
