Illegal rally participants charged, detained

Manama : Chief Prosecutor in the Northern Governorate, Adnan Mattar, said the Public Prosecution received a report from Budaiya Police Station informing that a number of individuals had been rallying in Al-Deraz area, some of the participants were identified. The Prosecution conducted its investigations immediately after receiving the report about the incident.

Today, the Prosecution questioned two suspects, faced them with the outcome of investigations and ordered their detention after charging them with illegal rallying in breach of the provisions of the law. Investigations continue to prepare the lawsuit papers to refer the suspects to the competent court.

In the same context, the Public Prosecution has completed its investigation in eight cases of illegal gathering and referred them to the relevant court on charges of unlawful gathering, regime hate instigation and unlicensed rallying.
