Gulf Air marks World Cancer Day

Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air marked World Cancer Day by jointly holding awareness and fund-raising activities with the Bahrain Cancer Society.

The airline made Bahrain Cancer Society merchandise available for sale by Gulf Air staff at its headquarters to benefit cancer research.

World Cancer Day 2016-18, under the tagline ‘We can. I can,’ aims to save millions of lives each year by raising awareness about the disease.

Gulf Air is also involved in various other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a number of local organisations. Recently, during the World Charity Day, Gulf Air donated airline tickets to local charity Dreams Society to help them realise the dreams of children affected by terminal illnesses. In June, the airline collaborated with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) office in Bahrain to celebrate World Environment Day and raise environmental awareness among the local community.
