GCC blockade of Qatar ‘benefitted Europe, America’

Europe and America have hugely benefited from the GCC blockade of Qatar, according to a GCC political analyst.

The GCC blockage on Qatar has turned out to be of economic benefit to Europe and the US, according to Dr Fahad Al Shelami, one of the experts who took part in the Derasat conference yesterday.

“There are states that have benefited form this crisis, the Europeans and Americans have benefited from it. Europe has benefited because they have signed huge contracts with Qatar as well as separately with the GCC.

“Americans have also signed similar contracts with Qatar and separately with the GCC. They try to take a middle ground and be balanced and with that they benefit from it,” he said.
