Bahrain’s freediving team, formed in early 2025, has made a bold international debut.

The squad, featuring Mohammed Al-Harmi, Reham Sayed, Hussain Sardar, and Bassam Sabt, competed at the Dahab Freediving Championship in Egypt, hosted by the Egyptian Diving and Rescue Federation. Reham Sayed became the first Bahraini woman to compete in the event’s history, setting a historic precedent.

Reham secured four national records, while she, Hussain, and Bassam achieved eight more, reflecting their skill and swift progress. These feats highlight Bahrain’s rising stature in freediving, with the team committed to raising the nation’s flag in future global competitions.
