Four Asian men arrested for smuggling

Manama : Four Asian men were remanded to 10 days in police custody yesterday for attempting to smuggle marijuana into Bahrain using wooden cylinders used to make bread.

The cylinders, containing 2,098 gram of marijuana, were found in possession of the second defendant, who was arriving from Bangladesh. Police officers suspected him, as he was in an abnormal condition.

However, he denied knowing anything, stating that a fellow countryman gave the cylinders to him. He expressed his readiness to help police to bust the actual persons linked to the drugs.

Police arrested three more men who came to receive the cylinders from the second defendant.
