The High Criminal Court has renewed the detention of two Asian men, charged with smuggling drugs into the Kingdom, by another 30 days. The first accused reportedly planned to enter Bahrain carrying 99 capsules of heroin in his stomach.

On a tip-off that the defendant would be wearing a red cap and received by his accomplice at the airport, police officers arrested the first defendant. They allowed him to meet his accomplice so they arrested him too.

The former was then taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex to have him disposed the capsules out of his stomach. The first defendant said he was tempted to smuggle the capsules by a stranger in his hometown, who offered him 4,000 Pakistani rupees in return.
