Ahead of COP29, a Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community delegation, led by Kinana Jamaluddin, joined nearly 300 religious leaders in Baku to address the climate crisis.

The Global Summit of Religious Leaders, under the patronage of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, focused on ‘World Religions for a Green Planet.’

Representing His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, Jamaluddin spoke on the Qur’anic call to ‘walk softly upon the Earth,’ advocating for harmony with nature.

The summit, held from November 5-6, brought together 55 countries to discuss climate action and interfaith perspectives on environmental issues.

The Dawoodi Bohra delegation showcased their Project Rise initiatives in tree planting, water conservation, and waste management.

The summit concluded with the adoption of the Baku Declaration, urging global action against climate change.
