His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in the opening of the sixteenth session of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP16) held in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from December 2 to December 13, 2024.

Dr. Bin Dainah praised the leading role that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is playing in unifying international efforts to combat desertification and protect lands from degradation. He reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to all regional and international environmental treaties and programs it has signed.
