Some of the categories included Best Backhand, Best Serve and Best Sportsmanship. Four players were short-listed for each award and a winner chosen based on each category’s criteria while also taking into account each player’s skill level and experience in the game.
Winners of the prestigious Player of the Year awards were Dylan Barrie (12-and-under) and Emily Cole (13-and-over). Other category winners were Angela Charbel, Cian Wagstaff, Goodwyn Campbell, Guillermo Alcazar, Nazly Abdoun, Rayyan Asif Jiffry, Serah Bermas and Wiam Almusawi.
The stars of the ceremony were Emily Cole, who was nominated in nine categories and claimed two awards, and Dylan Barrie, who was nominated in six categories and claimed three awards.
The awards were presented by BTA Director, Dan Barrie, who said, “Our 11-and-over award nominees and winners showed grit, determination and dedication this season. We hope these awards will encourage them to aim even higher next season.”
