BREAKING NEWS: Government employee and brother arrested over bribery bid

The Director-General of Anti-corruption and Economic & Electronic Security announced on Wednesday the arrest of a Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments employee and his lawyer brother who were caught red-handed while taking a bribe.

The Directorate of Anti-corruption was tipped-off that the employee, with the help of his brother, would receive money to facilitate the release of a fraud convict.

The department subsequently carried out an investigation which led to the arrest of the duo while they were accepting part of the bribe as down payment.

Legal steps are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecutor.
