Manama: Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) yesterday launched an educational programme titled “Certificate of Specialised Humanitarian Work Training Course.”

It is aimed at providing qualified community members with necessary skills to fulfil the requirements of humanitarian relief work and capacity of delivering effective prompt assistance on par with international standards.

BRCS’s Secretary-General Dr. Fawzi Amin said the course, which will commence early May, also includes a training workshop on international humanitarian law.

BRCS will also organise another edition in October. Dr. Amin said about 20 volunteers will attend the programme, who have satisfactorily passed all requirements, including the catastrophe readiness course recently hosted by the Qatari Red Crescent Society (QRCS), under the supervision of the relevant international organisations.
