The Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) is supporting the planting of two hundred trees and shrubs of bauhinia, siris, moringa and sidr in the Hamad Town 1209 Walkway in the Northern Governorate.
This was announced by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE).
BBK’s contribution came as part of the second phase of the National Afforestation Campaign, Forever Green that aims to expand green spaces, improve landscaping and support national and international efforts to counter climate change and achieve zero neutrality.
NIAD Secretary-General Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa affirmed that the cooperation between NIAD and BBK came to support government efforts in the environmental and agricultural sectors.
It is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the approach led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, towards achieving a sustainable environmental model that is capable of addressing the increasingly looming environmental and climate challenges.
