Manama : The High Administrative Court ordered a local university to refund BD10,567 to a student, who was denied the completion of her Ph.D programme. The plaintiff signed up in the programme after the university announced it.

However the Supreme Education Council cancelled the programme since it did not meet all the requirements and the decision was made while the plaintiff had already joined the programme. She is said to have paid part of the programme’s fees, amounting at BD10,567.

The student failed to get the amount from the university in an out-of-the-court settlement which led her to file a suit.
