The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the ATP Challenger from February 11 to 17 at the Public Security Officers Club’s Playgrounds. The event’s hosting was part of the directives of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The Public Security Sports Association will organise the competition. The organising committee held its first meeting, chaired by the General Supervisor of the Championship and Director General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, to discuss all the necessary preparations for hosting the event.

He hailed the directive of the Interior Minister to hold the competition for the third year in a row. He pointed out that the event contributed to reinforcing Bahrain’s sports status worldwide.

The President of the Pubic Security Sports Association, Brigadier Khalid Al Khayat, highlighted the organisational process and preparedness to host the event. He said that the organising committee supervised the preparation and maintenance of the playgrounds in cooperation with the Public Security Officers Club and that they were equipped based on the specifications and requirements of the International Tennis Federation and in conformity with the new tournament 125 classification, praising the great efforts made by the club to complete all preparations before the start of the event.

The registration for the event began with the participation of 32 singles’ players and 16 doubles’ teams amid expectations for the involvement of higher international rankings than previous editions.
