Bahrain stress support to Yemen

Manama : Yemen’s popular will, and not advocates of expansionist ambitions and sectarian discord, should determine its future, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday.

HRH Premier also stressed Bahrain’s firm support to Yemen’s legitimacy and security during his meeting with the Yemeni Vice-President, Lieutenant-General Ali Mohsen Al Ahmar.

“What happened in Yemen has proved the strength of the firm and unified Arab stance against threats to the Arab security, and people’s identity,” Prince Khalifa commented.

Al Ahmar is currently on a visit to Bahrain to convey thanks from the Yemeni President to HM the King and the government for Bahrain’s humanitarian, military and political stances towards Yemen.

On the occasion, the Premier recalled the depth of the solid Bahraini-Yemeni relations, reiterating the continuity of the Kingdom’s effective participation in supporting legitimacy and efforts to restore security across Yemen through the Saudi-led Arab Coalition.

Meanwhile, Al Ahmar said HRH the Prime Minister is “a political role model, a school of pan-Arabism and a pillar of security in the region.”

He briefed the Premier about the latest developments in Yemen. He also appreciated the Government of Bahrain for its authentic supportive stances towards Yemen, and its participation in providing military humanitarian aid.
